About the lessons
Steve retired from the school district and is continuing to do the part he loves best: helping kids find their sound.
He teaches small group lessons out of his home in Ames, Iowa, working with just a handful of students at a time so everyone gets real, personal attention. Lessons are relaxed, encouraging, and open to complete beginners as well as more advanced students.
What's taught
General music instruction in small groups, covering a little of everything:
- Singing
- Band instruments
- Piano
- Percussion
- Composing
- Kids music-making
Groups put on a couple of informal performances each year, so students get a chance to share what they've learned.
Who it's for
Lessons are for kids, from complete beginners to more advanced students. Groups are kept small, so as more students join, they can be grouped by age and skill level.
